I walked into Dalaran on a hot and steamy night in August, the people were milling about shopping, dueling, completing dailies, and I was staring at this handsome rogue.  We have been guildmates for a few months now, and we have run Dungeons and RAIDs together.  There was something different about him tonight though.

I walked up and flirted with Astroid shyly.  He reciprocated with a flirt of his own, and a blown kiss.  I told him I wanted to get away from all the noise and bustle of the city, and that I knew a great place to go and just relax, so that we could talk.  So, I took him by the hand and off we ran to a quiet secluded place.

I lead him through the Stormwind Portal in Dalaran, then ran through the streets of Stormwind with him following me.  I ran west toward Westfall, behind the Garrison and up the mountain to Thunder Falls.  There we sat beside a small stream with a waterfall, and he prepared a picnic for us.  We sat and ate and talked for a while.  I listened to the sound of the bubbling stream and the slight sighing of the waterfall.  We ate and talked, and flirted.  He took me in his arms and kissed me softly at one point.  We sat there, and enjoyed the night building all around us.

All of a sudden he hopped up.  He asked me to wait there, and off he ran into the night.  I sat there, and I wondered what on Earth could be going through this handsome rogue’s mind?  After several long minutes, he finally came back, I had wandered over to an area of Thunder Falls with a better view.  He came over to me, and got down on one knee.  He asked me to marry him, and gave me a ring.  I didn’t know what to say.  This was a side of him, I had never seen before.  I pondered the question for a minute, and then said yes.  Then we built a fire, and sat there under the Full Moon and cuddled.  We sat there and talked for about an hour.  No monster slaying, no battles, no noise and bustle of the city.  Just two night elves on a mountain above a waterfall in the moonlight.  It was so sweet, and so romantic.

It’s amazing how you can log into a game, where you normally kill and maim other players for gold and acheivements, and still have the time and place to go and just sit and enjoy the company of another and escape.
